Smoke density chamber ISO 5659-2

The equipment is used to estimate the optical density specific of the smoke produced by solid materials mounted in horizontal position and equipped with a truncated cone oven that gives a variable radiation between 10 and 50 kW/mq, to be used with samples in horizontal position. The system also perform test accordingly with the CEN TS 45545-2 ( fire protection on railway vehicles) where both optical smoke density and toxicity for all combustible materials and products are required. Toxic effluents are then analysed by a FTIR spectroscopy with two sampling times (4'- 8' ).
